A Heartfelt Thank You to My Tutor, Susan I had the privilege of being tutored by Susan around 2008 when I was a 14-year-old struggling with speech. She not only helped me build confidence but also made learning feel like an adventure. Susan introduced me to books like The Old Man and the Sea and films like My Fair Lady, both of which left a lasting impact. Susan’s kindness, patience, and dedication made an incredible impression on me and my family. To this day, we often talk about how grateful we are for everything she did. Her guidance went beyond academics; she helped me develop the skills and self-assurance that have carried me through life. Today, I’m working toward my Doctorate in Physical Therapy at Saint Augustine Health Sciences University, where I’m currently in clinical rotations and set to graduate in April. Susan’s influence has continued to shape my journey, even after all these years. Although we’ve stayed in touch, I recently reached out to let her know just how much she has meant to me. She is a remarkable tutor and an extraordinary person, and I feel incredibly fortunate to have had her support during such a formative time in my life.

Contacted Susan late in the afternoon, and she was able to accommodate the next few hours. She was very empathetic and understood the urgency in finding tutors for my teens for their upcoming finals within the week. The tutors were very kind, patient, flexible, and knowledgeable of the subject. A couple of sessions were held under recommendation without the pressure of being pushed into doing more. There was a big jump in my kids' usual math scores, and we are very happy with the final outcomes. I am so glad I found Susan. My only regret was not reaching out sooner. Highly recommend!!!

Susan was very accommodating with my crazy work schedule. My daughter was in 5th grade and struggling in math. A few months with susan and that quickly changed. She went from failing to passing.

My son struggled with poor academic performance; it negatively affected his social skills and self-esteem. Working with Susan and Andrew he gained a voice and self-confidence! Even if he does not join the military, (and hopefully returns to college :) I will forever be thankful for their intervention services!!! They are wonderful and have taken a genuine interest in my son’s progress.

EXCELLENT tutors! My daughter started tutoring the summer before 7th grade and continued through the 12th grade. She started a year behind and not only caught up, but is now a successful college freshman. The tutors were all true blessings-patient, dependable, enthusiastic and knowledgeable. Highly recommend!

Susan has been tutoring my 11-year-old daughter for over six months. My daughter is extremely pleased to work with her as she is patient and understanding of the academic goals we were looking to achieve. Thanks to Susan, my daughter's STARR results for Math and Reading gradually increased to a higher level than was expected. Susan has taught our daughter how to organize her studies and be successful at school. I recommend her company "Ace That Test" for parents or individuals seeking tutoring assistance with any grade level.

For the last two years, we have used several tutors from Ace That Test for my son and daughter, both students at BASIS charter school. My son (11th grade) worked with Andrew his entire sophomore year for AP Chemistry. This was a very challenging course for him. With Andrew's guidance and encouragement, he was able to get a passing score on the AP exam which will hopefully translate into college credit (depending on where he goes to college). My son is also in his second year working with Jeremy on math (sophomore year for PreCal and junior year for AP Calculus). Jeremy has been instrumental in his success. He explains things in a way that my son understands and gives him a lot of extra practice problems to work on. This year, my son also is taking the SAT and ACT and worked with Susan on the verbal/essay sections and Andrew on the math sections. His first official test sitting for both tests was in December and he scored considerably higher than on any of his previous PSAT or practice full length tests taken prior to tutoring. He will likely take each test once more but would be happy with his score even if it does not go up. Finally, my daughter (8th grade) has worked with Adri for both Algebra 1 last year and Algebra 2 this year. She has seen improvement in her math grades since she started working with Adri. We forward my daughter's weekly test review to Adri every Monday and she reviews it before their session each Thursday to make sure they maximize their time together. We have tried several tutors over the years and have continued going back to Ace That Test when new needs arise since we have had only great experiences with them. I wholeheartedly recommend calling Susan if you have tutoring needs. Her tutors not only do a great job tutoring but truly care about the success of their students. They are professional, smart, and reliable and have made a big difference for our family.

This is our second year with Ms. Merrill; she is an absolute pleasure to work with. Due to past co parenting challenges, our son was behind on core subjects. Ms. Merrill has been extremely effective at closing the academic gap, and we are hopeful that he will be all caught up before starting high school. Her ability to put special needs students at easy if formidable, and she is always trying to work with her clients (all of them) on scheduling needs. We highly recommend Ms. Merrill: she is the best tutor we've ever seen.

I can not say enough wonderful things about Susan. She's been my son's tutor for five years now and she does a phenomenal job. My son is on the autism spectrum and it takes him a very long time to get comfortable around new people, but not with Susan. He was almost immediately comfortable with her and they work well together. He is in the ninth grade now and just passed his Biology and English I EOC exams thanks, in no small part, to Susan. We will continue to use her services and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a tutor.

It went very well. Susan provided reliable tutors for my son. They were polite and professional and regular. My son was able to receive good grades because of regular review with tutor. As for my daughter, Suzan taught herself. Not onlly Alina aced SAT, (she made it to 99th percentile) she also received the national merit scholarship nomination. Suzan is very knowledgable about the test process and history. And she is very courteous.

Ms. Susan understands the importance of really CONNECTING with my son. For each 2-hour session, she walks that fine line between sweet and firm, is incredibly patient & understanding, and is unfailingly encouraging with positive reinforcement & strategies, looking to build not just my son's academic skills, but his self-confidence as well. We now have the test behind us, but we will keep using Ace That Test going forward to continue getting him the help and confidence he needs. I am so grateful.

Susan Merrill and Ace That Test Tutoring have done amazing things for my daughter and her boyfriend. I have used her services for almost 2 years now, and can say that the tutoring services she provides have exceeded all my expectations. Her tutors are professional, smart, courteous and have AMAZING gifts as educators. We have used 3 or 4 different tutors over the past 2 years, and have been thrilled with all of them. Her tutors have helped my daughter with her advanced and AP courses, and have helped her to maintain her standing in the top 10-15% of her class, and my daughter is now so enthused about school that SHE talks about moving up into the top 5%! I want to say how happy I have been with her services and want to contrast her services with some of the other 'big' tutoring agencies. I have spent (literally) tens of thousands of dollars on tutoring with Huntington and with Mathnasium before switching to Susan's tutors and the quality of educators and the improvement in my daughter's understanding is SO superior with Ace That Test Tutoring than with the other agencies. Her boyfriend was struggling with his understanding of math and so I offered to have him tutored as well, and within 3 tutoring sessions his grade in physics improved from a 43 to an 82!!! Susan Merrill of Ace That Test has been a godsend. We are a much happier family because of her. My daughter has learning differences and school is difficult for her. We started tutoring to get help with math which she was behind in. With Susan's help we saw changes very quickly in math skills and comprehension. Because we have seen so much improvement in such a short time we decided to have her tutored in all subjects. I'm proud to say my daughter is now on grade level and making straight A's in all her classes. She was inducted into her school's Beta Club this year, something we never thought would happen. I would like to thank mrs Susan for all the help she has given my daughter . Mrs. Susan had been tutoring my daughter since January 4 2014. I was to the point that I felt my daughter was not going to be able to pass the 3rd grade .but thanks to mrs Susan and her hard work my daughter has accomplished a lot and has grown in her reading and math. Mrs Susan is a great tutor and has patients with her.

Dylan has only seen Susan for three sessions, and it seems she already "gets" him. Her praise for him and in front of him is so encouraging. She gets excited for him when he gets things. I can see it in her. I can see her love for learning and teaching. I'm hoping to add on Reading, LA, and writing for the summer as his other tutor has personal issues to tend to. Dylan can be a tough cookie to get motivated, and he works very hard for her. She has already found what he likes and what he enjoys learning, and she sponges off that. I am very happy taking him to her and that he has another positive role model in his life!!

I was about to make a big decision for my 7 yo's education. The school was threatening to leave him behind a grade because his reading level would not improve. I worked tiredlessly with him at home, the school was providing extra help and tutoring. I was pulling my hair out, we had a strained relationship because I did not know how to teach this child and he was getting a low self esteem and confidence. After trying everything I decided to call a tutor. Ms Merrill has totally transformed my child. She has helped improve in his reading by 3 reading levels, task completion and organization- not only at reading but at home, chores, etc. The fantastic part is that we have only been working with her for 6 weeks and I am excited to see what the future holds. Now I have a loving relationship with my happy, more confident child.

Susan makes it very easy to work with - she comes to us! She started tutoring my child in math in August and now (Nov.) my child has already gone up more than a grade level in math. My child is still slightly behind but is doing grade level work now. (We're gaining on it!). My child is now volunteering math answers in class and is even tutoring another student! We've worked with other tutors in the past and Susan has been the best tutor we've ever met. We got her name from Angie's List and couldn't be happier. Thank you Angie's List!! My child had struggled with Math for years. Despite numerous other tutors over the years, my child entered college testing below college level in Math. I contacted Ace That Test and have not regretted it for a moment. My child went from flunking remedial Math to an A by the end of the quarter. I almost believe his tutor, Daniel, worked magic. My child took two more college level Math classes, in condensed summer form no less, and received A's in both. He is no longer worried about Math and is confident enough that his 3rd college Math class he was able to score A's on every quiz and test with out tutoring. He just gets it now. This same service has also provided a college accounting tutor with similar results after 1 session. I can testify that Ace That Test only uses the best. The owner works hard to find the perfect match. I am currently using the service for my youngest who has learning disabilities that have put him way behind in English. The first day of tutoring my child had to be bossed into going. After all, what child wants to spend more time in the subject where he/she struggles? When I picked him up after his session, he said it went well and he would like to go back. I heartily recommend Ace That Test tutoring. This small company has made a large impact on the lives of two of my children. This service is worth every penny.

The tutoring is about $35.00 an hour. I'm using two tutors with them. My son is home schooled and we are trying to prepare for college entrance tests and the SAT. One of the tutors is working on math and chemisty with him. The other is working on writing, English, history, and fashion design. They're really great. They're using subjects that he likes to help make him more confident in his writing and it's working really well. There's an amazing difference in his attitude about learning. His self confidence and writing have improved and he looks forward to working with the tutors.

Susan has been working with my son for the past month and we saw immediate results. The teacher was also really impressed with the results she is seeing from my son since Susan has been working with him My son is now testing toward the top of his class since we started this. My son now looks forward to studying with Susan because she makes the lessons fun.
